  1.                ***** DAN DARE 2 *****

  3. After more than  a  year's  silence  the  Mekon  stirs  again from his
  4. hideout in deep space. His ambition to  be  ruler of the Earth has not
  5. shaken in its resolve.
  6. This time the Mekon has  instigated immense scientific development and
  7. has produced a new, genetically engineered race..... the  SUPERTREENS!
  8. He has also constructed a spaceship  to launch his dastardly creations
  9. on the Earth and is now on  his  way! Only Colonel Dan Dare can defeat
  10. the Mekon and the only way to do it is FACE TO FACE!

  12. DAN'S MISSION
  13. There are four levels to  the  Mekon's  ship, each level houses deadly
  14. Supertreens, enclosed in  Plexiglass  Life  Support  Bubbles. Dan must
  15. penetrate all four levels,  locate  all  the  Supertreens and sabotage
  16. their control boxes before the  level  destruct sequence scatters them
  17. into the Earth's atmosphere. When  all  control  boxes have been shot,
  18. Dan has to reach the  passage  connecting  the  present level with the
  19. next one.

  21. MEKONS MISSION
  22. Like Dan, the Mekon, with the help of his Treens, must also locate all
  23. the Supertreens. When found, he  manually activates their life support
  24. control boxes and ejects them into space.
  25.  
  26. LIVES
  27. The player starts the game  on  level  one  with  six lives. A life is
  28. represented on the bottom score panel  by  a  small dot. The game will
  29. end if either all six lives are  lost,  or the player is caught on the
  30. level-destruct blast unprotected. Extra  lives  are  awarded for every
  31. fifty thousand points scored. Extra  energy  objects  can be picked up
  32. which will replenish the stamina bar.

  34. ESCAPE FROM THE SPACESHIP
  35. On level four there is an escape Pod, although it's portable operation
  36. unit has been  moved  elsewhere  to  prevent  easy  escape.  The Pod's
  37. advanced computer detection system allows  only Vesuvian life forms to
  38. operate it - this may be a huge problem for Dan!
